Spectrum Speech Pathology Services is a registered provider for the FaHCSIA Better Start for Children with a Disability Initiative. This program is designed to assist children with disabilities to access early intervention therapy services.

Children eligible for services under the Better Start Program from the 1st January 2013 include those diagnosed with:

Down Syndrome
Cerebral Palsy
Fragile X Syndrome
Vision Impairment
Hearing Impairment
Prader Willi Syndrome
Williams Syndrome
Cri Du Chat Syndrome
Angelman Syndrome
CHARGE Syndrome
Cornelia de Lange Syndrome
Kabuki Syndrome
Smith-Magenis Syndrome

Children with these diagnoses are also eligible for Medicare items for the development of a treatment and management plan for eligible children under the age of 13.

Medicare items for up to four allied health diagnostic services and for a total of 20 relevant allied health services (in total) for eligible children up to the age of 15 (provided the treatment and management plan is in place before the age of 13).
